If your computer is connected to the Internet, then your computer will be at risk of being bombarded with spyware, viruses, and other malware. To prevent that I will share tips on how to protect your computer from spyware problems, viruses or other nuisance programs. Spyware is a friendly, there is also evil. friendly spyware just watch what you do on the web, but if you are dealing with the evil spyware, spyware can be through tracking, monitoring what button you press and save it (including your username and password). Obviously this will cause a security risk your computer privacy.
Use the following tips when you surf the internet:
Careful Where You Download
Malicious programs often come from malicious sites. If you are looking for freeware or shareware program for a particular purpose, try searching for famous sites like tucows.com or download.com.
Read the EULA correctly and carefully
It’s the End User License Agreement. That’s all the legal crap in a box above the radio button that says “No, I do not accept” or “Yes, I accept these terms”. Most people click “yes” so fast you’d think that they’re playing computer games. Please note that the EULA is a legal agreement you make with the software vendor – and you may agree to install spyware or enable various other changes to your system. Evaluate whether it’s worth it first.
Reading the Pop-Up Window
The window that appears on the website is sometimes useful. But sometimes clicking on the button or link will start to install malicious software. Like the EULA, many users will click “yes” or “ok” without stopping to read the text just to make it go away. Maybe that says “Do you want to install our spyware program?” Ok, admitted they did not come out and say it directly, but it’s all more reason to stop and actually read the message before you receive.
Fight Back with Antivirus Software
The virus is only a small part of what software you need to protect you from. Antivirus software has been expanded to include the fight against worms, trojans, vulnerability exploits, jokes, hoaxes and even spyware and adware. Check that your business antivirus system will detect and block spyware. You can try a product like AdAware Pro which will protect your system from spyware or adware in real time.
Scan your Network
Even with antivirus software, firewalls and other protective measures some spyware or adware may eventually make it through a network of individual computers. While products like AdAware Pro mentioned earlier will monitor your system in real time, your business must pay a licensing fee to install AdAware Pro entire system. Evaluating and using the strongest solution is worth it if you consider the cost of IT to improve the system and the time lost by employees, not to mention frustration. However, AdAware is a free alternative for personal use provided by Lavasoft, the makers AdAware Pro. AdAware will not monitor in real time, but you can scan your system manually to detect and remove spyware. A very good choice the other is Spybot Search & Destroy, also free.
Follow these five steps and you will proactively protects your computer from spyware and detect and remove any malicious code that does not infiltrate.
