Second Generation Computers (1959 – 1964)

For most people, the discovery of transistors means more practical. Therefore the data processing business, marks the beginning of second-generation computers. Transistor means more performance, more reliable, and cheaper computers that occupy less space and generate less heat.
Cost should be suppressed. Computer prices during the first generation, second and some third generation is an important part of the budget of a company. Innovation in the race with competition that results in the addition of performance and computer prices decrease greatly.
The dominant characteristic of second-generation computer:
Transistor
Compatibility is limited to a different computer each plant are no compatibility between different manufacturers The language of low-level programming.
